In 2006, James Balog and National Geographic, attempted to photograph the effects of global warming as they unfolded. The result is the "Extreme Ice Survey."
26 solar-powered cameras capture time-lapse images of glaciers in Greenland, Iceland, Alaska, the Alps, and the Rocky Mountains. Over the next two years the project will take more than 300,000 pictures. You can view these spectacular images by clicking here.
